Laox has struggled in recent years and became a subsidiary of major Chinese electronics retailer Suning Appliance Co. in August 2009. Since then, Laox has intensified efforts to attract Chinese tourists in Japan. The Ginza shop would strengthen Laox’s ability to sell to this lucrative group, according to the company.
