As companies continue to expand into Asia and China, reshape their organizational structures, relocate their plants and enter new markets, they create cross-border opportunities for talented professionals.

GUANGZHOU – Authorities in south China’s megacity of Guangzhou announced late Saturday that they will slash the number of new cars hitting the streets to ease the city’s traffic jams and cut pollution.

Of Chinese cities, Shanghai ranked the highest, coming in at 36th place. Other Chinese cities to make the list were Beijing, in 55th place, Shenzhen, in 67th, and Guangzhou, in 109th.

Beijing and Guangzhou residents are not satisfied with their quality of life compared with residents in 33 other Chinese cities, according to the Chinese City Life Quality Report released on June 16.

In the national Five-Year Plan (2011-15), Nansha was designated as a business service center for the Chinese mainland, linking it to the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. The district will also serve as a technological innovation center, an educational and training base and an area for cooperation in services related to portside industries.
