(IT) What is the Quality of Life in the wards? To know that,we must understand the basic structure of BBMP. Bangalore is divided into 198 wards. Eligible voters in each ward will elect a corporator every 5 years to represent them in the corporation.

Urban local bodies will have 50% quota for women

(IT) BANGALORE: Half the seats in urban local bodies (ULBs) in Karnataka will be reserved for women.

Bangalore needs rain-drain system

(IT) BANGALORE: Pre-monsoon showers are in. And monsoon isn’t far away. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), however, appears unmoved as locations in the city vulnerable to water-logging and flooding during heavy rain continue to remain death traps with their storm water drains remaining open and uncovered.

(IT) The Midnight’s Children initiative is to get over 10,000 respondents to enlist their requirements after the city goes to sleep. “The survey will tell us how many citizens use public transportation and similar services after 10.30 pm. We’ll then take our petition along with the survey results to BMTC, BBMP, Namma Metro and BDA,” explained Sundaresan.
